Why Enroll Your Daughter in Girl Power?

Science, technology, engineering and math can offer your daughter a vast array of exciting career opportunities, yet they often seem like daunting fields to enter. Women are still outnumbered by men in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields. Girl Power can help demystify STEM subjects for your daughter. Girl Power events and programs offer a supportive and encouraging environment for your daughter to explore and develop her interests with the assistance of qualified instructors and industry-based mentors who can provide real world examples of how STEM skills can be put to use.

Our initiatives are: to provide hands-on math, science and technology experiences which strengthen the student's entrepreneurial/leadership and problem solving skills, build the student's self-esteem, stimulate the student's intellectual curiosity and provide self-motivation to continue their exploration in STEM fields.

Below you will find links to upcoming events as well as permission forms for your daughter, and a list of current volunteer opportunities.

Testimonials

I love mathematics and Girl Power gave me the confidence I needed to realize that I can have a career as an engineer. I’ve been able to work with and learn from professionals from different companies in the Bay Area, and I’m excited to have this opportunity.

I’ve always been intimidated about studying science, but Girl Power helped me see that I can learn the skills I need to excel. I took part in a workshop run by the Tech Museum of Innovation recently, and it was really exciting to be around so many girls like me who enjoy math and science. Now I feel like I really could become a chemist or a physicist if I keep studying hard. Thank you to everyone at Girl Power for being so inspirational.
