Marine Mammal Research Tour

Fun with Science at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Come to the Discovery Center at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for Fun with Science! Fun with Science is a program intended to spark kids’ interest in science through entertaining demonstrations and hands-on activities. The program demonstrations align with fifth grade California State Science Standards and covers topics such as rainbows and light, states of matter, chemistry, electricity, density, air and pressure. Can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages. Fun with Science is held at the Discovery Center at the corner of N. Greenville and Eastgate Dr. in Livermore. Each session is 1 1/2 hours long and space is limited. The Discovery Center will be open to the public from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Sharing Our Success

Over 200 girls in grades 6–12 will experience the opportunity to come together for a night of networking and hands-on demonstrations. Using the theme Science, Technology, Engineering and Math...Grow Your Future, participants will enjoy a night of networking with successful women who have combined their education and work experiences in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) along with diverse interests to pursue a wide variety of careers. See hands-on demonstrations and ask questions. Hear dynamic women share their stories of how technology has set them apart in the workplace and led to fulfilling careers. For ten years Girl Power has provided girls an opportunity to meet successful women in the technology industry.

The Tech Museum, TechLab Tour

Jan 21, 2:00–3:00 pm

Join us for a 1-hour preview of The Tech’s new Digital Fabrication Lab, complete with a 3D printer, laser cutter, and more. We'll be designing and prototyping our new museum exhibits in this space for guests to see, and we'll have a dedicated space to test out exhibits with guests. The TechLab will also showcase how digital fabrication tools are changing the way products are developed. We'll ultimately be offering a variety of Maker/Hacker programs and workshops in the space, joining the movement for FabLab learning and Makerspaces in communities and schools.
