About us
We are a group of people who love square dancing so much that we want to make it easy for everyone everywhere to square dance.
We work together to post on this web site all the places you can learn to dance and where you can dance regularly after you have learned.
We are in the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia. In all these countries you will find those of us who love square dancing and we will welcome you with open arms.
This web site was created by Mark Brautigam, but the information here was put together by hundreds of people all over the world.

About this project
Objective: Create a business-related web site. One of the options is an Online Information Service.
This was the final project for GDES 045, the first class in HTML and CSS.
The requirements are:
- At least five pages.
- One form.
- CSS used for all layout and positioning of content, except where tables are appropriate.
- Design fits the content.
- Color harmony.
- Usability.
- Intuitive navigation.
- Appropriate and legible typography.
I chose to sketch a re-design of the Calendar section of the Mixed-Up Squares web site. I also added the capability to add to this list of square dance events. (The form just sends me an email.)
I added these features compared to the Mixed-Up Squares site:
- The list of dances has icons and the listings are condensed, somehwat like a Twitter feed. You can click on any listing to expand it and see more information.
- The site has suitable graphics and is more appealing and less threatening.
- The color theme is more appropriate for this kind of activity.
- On 3 June 2013, I added the PHP to populate the calendar with live data from the mixed-up.com web site.
