Harmonics

Square wave has the fundamental frequency and all odd harmonics. Harmonics amplitude are inversely related to frequency. For example, 3rd harmonic has amplitude 1/3.

Sine wave has only the fundamental frequency and no harmonics.

Sawtooth wave has the fundamental frequency and all harmonics. Harmonics amplitude are inversely related to frequency. For example, 4th harmonic has amplitude 1/4.

Triangle wave has the fundamental frequency and all odd harmonics. Harmonics amplitude are inverse square related to frequency. For example, the 3rd harmonic has amplitude 1/9. Also, every other odd harmonic is subtracted from the waveform instead of being added. We accomplish this by adding every other odd harmonic 180 degrees out of phase.
